Bethesda Home Design gives home remodeling clients a complete system for transforming the way they live. From the early planning stages to the final touches of interior design, Bethesda Home Design keeps your dream for the perfect house in mind.

How does Bethesda Home Design do it? By marrying expert Construction Design and Interior design. Owners Jeff (the builder) and Pam (the Interior Designer) tackle every project together. The pair ensures clients get exactly the living space they want.

Bethesda Home Design delights clients in Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Rockville, Silver Spring /Kemp Mill and Potomac.

From start to finish, working with Jeff and Pam was an absolute pleasure. I was a bit nervous going in to the project, because our previous experience with a contractor was pretty awful.…

We will use Bethesda Home Design in the future for any and all home renovations, and we recommend them without hesitation. I have a friend going through a nightmare of a home renovation with another company, and I just wish she’d contacted Bethesda Home Design, because I know her experience would have been so much better if she’d gone with Jeff and Pam!

Home Remodeling Starts With You

You’ve put down roots in an area that you love. The school district is great, the commute is … manageable, and the area gives you a chance to fill your life with the things you love.

Except for one small problem: how small your house feels. Whether your family is expanding or your growing children need more space or your design just can’t keep up with your modern lifestyle, most of the homes in our areas don’t work for our clients. They’re cramped. Every room is single-use. The bathrooms are sparse and utilitarian, and the closets can’t hold a modern wardrobe.

You don’t want to move, but remodeling is a nightmare. Will the final product be what you want? Will the experience drive you nuts? Will the money you put in pay you back in the value of the home?

Thank you for making something so complex both understandable and manageable for the two of us. Your attention to the details, both big and small, throughout the entire project is greatly appreciated.

Making Remodeling a Breeze

Our process begins and ends with your vision. With an architect and interior designer on the job, we’re able to fully dig into your ideas and flesh out not just the broad strokes, but the details that make the job exactly what you want. With a firm full of designers, builders and interior designers, you’ll never have conflicting plans about how to get the job done.

Our 4-Step Process Makes Your Home Renovation Painless

Step 1

You meet with Jeff to discover your ideas and dreams about what you want and do a thorough inspection of your current conditions. From this first meeting we will submit to you at no cost a list of descriptions, procedures and specifications with a price based on your vision.

One of our strengths of “Design Build” is we build to a budget and offer the results you want with less-expensive alternatives you might not have considered.

Step 2

We produce a 3D model that shows you the plan in a way drawings just can’t. This gives you a  visual of what your renovation will look like when the last coat of paint dries.

We often find opportunities to improve the plans in this stage. It’s one thing to see overhead drawings of your planned project, but it’s quite another to step into it virtually. This new perspective is when we catch things that don’t look precisely like you had in mind, before they get built.

Step 3

The contract engineered drawings and Permits. These are the technical schematics to get approval from the regulatory authorities.

This step could cause a lot of headache without a professional with decades of experience on your side. We’ve gotten approval for all kinds of projects in all kinds of locations. We’re even able to negotiate with an HOA if necessary.

Step 4

Construction begins. With other contractors, this is the part homeowners dread. We’ve had clients call our construction “painless”.

Jeff and Pam stay involved throughout and the project manager will be there every day to coordinate and keep things on schedule.

Whether you choose to live on site or elsewhere, we keep you in the loop the entire length of the project.

Every Client Can Count on Bethesda Home Design for a Few Key Things:

\

Our company handles everything we can in-house. We don’t subcontract, and we know our employees like our friends and family. A typical Bethesda Home Design worker has been with the company for a decade.

\

The principals who talk with you about your home design will always be available to you. We keep open lines of communication before, during and after a project.

\

Pam’s interior design services are free to our remodeling clients. She will go to the shops with you and help you make the critical decisions that bring a home remodeling project together as well as making sure that the supply or design shops keep their pencils sharp.

\

A 3D modeling of your planned renovation will give you an immersive look at what your plans really mean for your life. Most clients say the plan didn’t really click until they saw the 3D model. This also allows the customer to change the look, size, window & door locations and even placement of their furniture before the job starts.

A Transformation You’ll Love

Our clients love their new homes. The open-concept floor plans let them spend more time with the family. The modern design means the home keeps the value they’ve put into it. And the free interior designing brings it all together with a unified aesthetic that matches the client’s vision.

And that’s all after a less-stressful construction process than our competitors can offer. Because we don’t just want to improve our clients’ home lives AFTER the work is done. We want to alleviate stress on the family DURING the project as well. Former Bethesda Home Design clients invited Jeff and Pam to their holiday events and childrens’ birthday parties . How many other contractors can say that?

Interior Design

Most homeowners don’t consider when planning a remodeling project that the final look is very dependent on the interior design. Even the most organized homeowners can get lost in the remodeling process and lose sight of what they want their new space to be.

It takes an expert to find artistic ways to evoke the feelings clients have about their home through use of space, color, furniture and lighting. Pam offers her services as an interior designer with over 3 decades of experience for FREE to Bethesda Home Design clients because this step really puts the finishing touches on the project. Plus, interior design can completely overhaul a room’s atmosphere without breaking the bank.

Remodeling is not just about getting the right floorplan or meticulous detail work, it’s also about how the client feels about their lives. Interior design is one of the most important ways we make sure they feel great about them.

It was wonderful to work with Pam! She helped make the million and one decisions that come with a renovation project, feel like only a handful of decisions! She provided peace of mind on the design choices that I would not have had otherwise. Pam helped clarify my vision while also providing suggestions and other alternatives I would not have considered. She was cognizant of budget and helped me prioritize where to spend the money on the design elements.

Bathrooms

Bathroom renovations bring the big value for most construction. Bathrooms play a large role in selling the home. Many D.C. area residents find their current bathrooms way out of line with modern standards.

If you have a bathroom that’s too small or too sparse, it may be time for an upgrade. Whether you’re looking for a spa-like atmosphere or just need more storage space for a large family, we can reshape the room to your needs

Kitchens

The kitchen has become the new heart of the home. Instead of shutting away the cook in a small room off to the side, modern design celebrates meal preparation. Open concept living means the chef can be part of the action in the living room or help with homework in the dining room. And with expanded working space, more people can pitch in to make the job easier.

If you’re feeling stifled and cut off by your current kitchen, it may be time for a change.

Basements and Attics

One of the best ways to add value to a home is to add bedrooms. If you have an unfinished basement or attic space, turning it into a useable room opens up a lot more options for your family or for future buyers. Or you can lighten the mortgage bill a bit by renting out a basement unit. Maybe you’ve always wanted a rec room or craft space.

An unfinished basement or attic is a blank canvas for us to work with. Whatever extra you think your home has been missing, you may just find it there.
